I have Solar City now Tesla solar panels on my home, starting year 6 I believe? I originally had 18 panels which were replaced with 16 by Tesla. (I have a Lease which I bought out) Therefore I have room for 2 additional panels.

1) Who do I contact at Tesla to inquire about panels being added to my system? (I have observed my neighbors adding panels to their home solar systems)

2) I am entertaining adding a Power Wall. I would like to have an evaluation of adding the Power Wall to my home to see the cost/benefit to my current electrical usage.

Has anyone done the same and what path did you follow to gain information directly from Tesla. Not sure I want to go a 3rd party installer considering I have a Lease.
Appreciate information of phone number(s) and/or email addresses

You dont have a lease, you bought it out per what you said, so you own it. Tesla "might" install 2 panels on your existing system, but no one else will add on to another companies solar install. Its just not done, at all.

What IS done is a complete separate system (new panels, new inverter, etc) tied into your existing electrical. No one wants to touch some other companies solar install. Since your original install is tesla, tesla "might" add panels but they dont normally do that either.

Also, to buy a powerwall (or powerwalls) from tesla you will need to be buying a new solar install, tesla currently does not sell them separately (because they dont have to, because the demand is like a few months wait list for them).

Third party installers will sell you a powerwall without solar, but have even less stock than tesla does, and are more expensive than tesla is (with, in general, better customer service than tesla).

TL ; DR -- dont plan on adding "a couple panels" to your existing system. Dont plan on buying a powerwall from tesla separately. Plan on having to buy a new solar install (either from tesla or a third party) and if you want a powerwall, expect there to be a pretty long wait time, no matter who you go with. Since you stated you bought out your system, its not a lease, you own it, so dont discuss "lease" with anyone you contact because its not that any longer if you bought it.

Unless I am misunderstanding, why would I purchase a new system when I have appx. 18 years left on my current 16 panels?
Who or how do I contact Tesla to ask about adding 2 additional panels?
Getting an estimate of return on a power wall is not possible?
Who or how do I contact Tesla on acquiring a power wall to my existing solar panel system?
Does Tesla have a Lease arrangement on the power wall?

Here are my updated stats. 4kW system with a 3.68kW inverter on the south coast installed Feb 1 2013. I'm hoping to add a Powerwall 2 and an extra 1.5kW PV system this year.

For what it's worth department: We installed Solar 2 years ago, and 2 powerwall units almost a year ago. We also added 3 panels for a total of 24. We find we no longer have to pay Green Mountain, we have gone almost a year now with bills that say "credit balance, do not pay". Gotta love that. The powerwalls run the house overnight, the panels charge the poweralls during the day and then feed the grid. We are now balanced such that 2 or 3 days of clouds a week don't matter, they just eat a bit from our credit balance. Our goal was to get the system to be overall energy neutral and we have pretty much made it. Now, we bought our system from a local vendor that at the time also sold the powerwalls, they now sell their own battery systems. The point is, having the back up system just "completes" the solar install. I think it's well worth it.

Please explain how you got Tesla to #1) Respond to your request to add panels, #2) How you managed to acquire a power wall to your existing system?
Did you go to an outside contractor? This is exactly what I am trying to do with my home system.

Please update if you can figure out to submit your requests to Tesla and if they respond? So far, I am not having any luck!
