He's been very responsive as well but a bit delayed in final design as he had to be out of town for a few days. I'm in final stage of decision between them two out of 6 bids I've gotten.

I was very underwhelmed with Tesla solar. In my April quote from them they did not seem to understand the ComEd 110% rule for net metering, did not think optimizers were needed and would not guarantee me a solaredge invertor.

I ended up going with a local place that I found on energy sage and everything seems to be going the plan. Just hit 4 weeks since the contact was signed and they are working through ComEd and City approvals. ComEd had kept me in the loop each step and after we get one more approval it's time to order the hardware. 30 365w LG panels (10.95KW), 30 370w Solaredge optimizers and a Solaredge 10000H-US invertor. $3.30 before federal and Illinois SRecs.

Just a heads up that one recommendation from one stranger on a website is a little thin for making an array buying decision. Overjoyed to see homeowners helping each other out and getting panels up, just make sure you dig a good bit more before diving in.

It doesn't matter as much today that your installer be around in 10 years for service, but it can be good for peace of mind. And there are a LOT of shady installers out there right now working on behalf of individual shady manufacturers.

Under $3. Keep in mind what product you go with. Tesla quoting me Q-cells for 2.68.

All dependents in the weather and location. Make sure you notify comed ASAP. They made wait a month to start net metering.
