Tesla has been taking advantage of state funding from the start. By subsidizing vehicle purchase the government and various states have as much interest in Tesla as many investors. Beyond state funding, which is apparently required for their success, they also enjoy the “go fund me” efforts for their so-called FSD package. Perhaps other automakers have been rescued by the government as well, but Tesla stands out as the one that has enjoyed it so much that it has created its owner vast government subsidized wealth. Corporate welfare at its finest. Seems like shareholder or not, we are all owners without benefit.

I have a mental image of @Mr. Michael carrying his NPR tote bag while listening to All Things Considered on his ear buds. I read the post not as a rant, but a dig at Elon for his impulsive NPR labeling.

Ahhh... I didn't quite capture the context of the post. Makes much more sense now.

I don't think I'd read the bit about NPR quitting Twitter over being labeled a state sponsored media outlet until after I'd replied. Perhaps I'd have connected them if I had.
