Is it just me or are these tax ideas impacting the middle class and lower upperclass folks without asking anything of the super wealthy? That's mind blowing to me. Off topic, yes, but mind blowing nonetheless.

Ohhh you're talking about eliminating all of it as in Zero tax deduction for mortgages of any size. I have an above average home in my area. It would certainly hurt people but the economy wouldn't spiral out of control. It's like gas prices. $4/gallon was going to bankrupt every middle class family in America, it didn't people just had to learn to adapt their spending.

Honestly, if you told me at the beginning of this thread that I'd end up defending John McCain, I would have not believed you!

I don't know about your claims though, I'm sure he has his fair share of issues, but I actually gained a ton of respect for him when he ran against Obama and I saw a documentary black and white video (before he was a POW) when there was a horrible accident and explosion on the deck that killed several of his fellow soldiers, and then he jumped off his soon to be exploding airplane and started dragging people to safety...

But maybe you're right... if he would have had taken the honorable route and sought deferments for bone spurs in his feet rather than actually going to Vietnam and making a sacrifice for his country, I'd really respect him.

Meanwhile, I do recall POTUS jumping like a little scared coward when a guy rushed his stage during one of his campaign speeches.... you know, I have to be honest @kort677, you seem like a man's man from our previous little political TMC exchanges... unless I'm missing something on the history of John McCain, I would think that you of all people would know who the tougher guy really is among the two Republicans? I'm actually serious about that. Please tell me what I'm missing.
