The growing difference between counts on the Tesla Motors Supercharger Page and Supercharger.Info seems to be some Service Centers that have Superchargers, that Tesla does not put on their "Find Us" page, but are on Supercharger.Info. Perhaps the lack of redundancy with a single Supercharger Cabinet is the deciding factor.

No. If that was the factor then a lot of other 2 stalls and 1 charger sites should not be listed either. It seems that they try not to list a few locations for other reasons. The locations are the one mentioned above and the similar at the Berlin Service center.

Other places they list such service center chargers even if another charger is very close - like in Stockholm (Find Us | Tesla Motors)

So - why not list Chicago and Berlin? Can't see why not...

Confusing reasoning on Tesla's part.

The Supercharger in Montréal is almost done, and does not appear on any coming soon maps, but Toronto does.

I contacted the City of Elko Nevada building department and this is the response I got:

We do currently have a 6 stall charging station being built here in Elko. The address is 2405 Mountain City Highway, next to the restaurant Denny's and Big 5 Sporting Goods. We are very excited about this development and we know many others are as well!

For the first time I can recall Supercharge.info now shows *fewer* open superchargers then the TM site, 345 to 347

For the last couple days now Teslamotors.com has been showinf 347 while supercharge.info has been showing 345, first I can recall that supercharge.info has shown fewer.

Given that the future SC locations are bid upon by contracting companies, how does one find out what is up for bid? Seems like a logical way to find 'coming soon' locations.

Qualified contractors would be given logon credentials. (Which begs the question of how Tesla locates qualified contractors....)

I'm guessing that Tesla both seeks out companies that do similar work, and contractors who can do the work contact Tesla to put themselves out there. Tesla checks them out and if they are convinced the companies can do the job, they go into the list of companies contacted when a contract comes up along with the contact/access information they need.

It looks great now, but I wonder what it will look like after a few months of use. At least if an ICE parks there he shouldn't be able to claim ignorance any longer.

Depends on how often it's ICEd. Should look okay if only Teslas park there.

Actually - supercharge.info and the Tesla motors pages have all the same sites listed. i.e. there are 57 Chinese sites on both sites. The difference is how both sites count:
supercharge.info - counts all accessible Superchargers - also those at a service center that Tesla Motors does not list (like Chicago and Berlin)
Tesla Motors counts sites close together - of the type Darien southbound and Darien northbound as two separate sites, supercharge.info counts these as 1 site (but lists both of them individually)
