I was expecting this. Allowing free Supercharging for the S and X is one more way to differentiate them from the more affordable (and numerous, eventually) 3 and Y.
I think this is a bad move. Crowding is already evident. I'm not sure they can produce superchargers quick enough!!

A new 20 stall, I believe, just opened in Skokie IL. Its limited to 72KW so its the new city chargers, but its in a nice place for commuters between the new downtown locations and Highland park, where I usually go as its 5 miles from my office.
Edit: Highland park is supposed to expand as well, but I have yet to see any activity that would be inline with an expansion. Currently only 4 stalls at 115kw per the map in the car.
Here is an update on the status of the 523 North American "Coming Soon" superchargers targeted to open in 2018. In spite of a huge backlog of sites in permitting or under construction, only 13 sites opened in the U.S. and Canada in January. The pace of openings should be rapid in February, however, as many sites have been languishing in the final stages of construction. Below is a list of the sites that came online in December and the 86 sites for which we have information or at least rumors on their location. Sites with confirmed locations are shown at supercharge.info; details on all sites is available at the Supercharger Progress wiki.
Just for fun, below are the remaining 428 sites with a target opening in 2018 for which we need to sleuth out information:

This are NOT superchargers, it is "fastchargers" that Tesla sell to customers, mostly taxi-companies etc., for private use. This chargers is bought by a Tesla customer and is set up as a free charging spot by him. And yes, they do look like superchargers, but are limited to ~60kW per stall as you mentioned.

Here is an update on the status of the 523 North American "Coming Soon" superchargers targeted to open in 2018. In spite of a huge backlog of sites in permitting or under construction, only 12 sites opened in the U.S. and Canada in February. About 5% of the 523 targeted sites were brought online in the first 2 months of 2018. Below is a list of the sites that came online in February and the 86 sites for which we have information or at least rumors on their location. Here is an update on the status of the 523 North American "Coming Soon" superchargers targeted to open in 2018. 19 sites opened in the U.S. and Canada in March. About 9% of the targeted sites were built in the first 3 months of 2018. That measly little drive?
My folks and I do an equivalent drive almost every year to visit my brother in Wisconsin, hoping to get my Model 3 in time for our next trip up in June, nephew #2 is heading off for the Army. Last summer it was for nephew #1's wedding. The difference might be we have 3 drivers for the trip. Last October we drove from Fresno, Tx (Houston metro) to the Grand Canyon, Portland*, Napa Valley, then back home.

FWIW: Warsaw is still usable. Something happened last year to take this off official locations but it’s still active.
Takes less than 22 hours with charging in a Model 3. I'd drive over flying. I can take my water bottle into the car, I can take whatever I want with me, I can leave when I want, not when the plane departs, I have my car instead of a rental, it's much cheaper. But most of all, I don't have to deal with TSA BS. But that's just me.
With a family, the carbon footprint associated with driving together in one Tesla vehicle is just so much lower than flying, it's not even funny. There are good reasons to fly, but when it's an option to drive our Model S and make use of the wonderful Supercharger network instead, I'm happy to do that. When time permits, it's actually nice to get out on the open road.

Not just you. I used to love to fly, now I avoid it in no small part due to the TSA. Not wanting to be molested aside, their continued 95% failure rate proves giving up the fourth was not worth it.
