I don't actually think the mi/hr charge rate is a useful metric for that either. IMHO, what's needed is a "rated miles per 1/4 or 1/3 hour (15 or 20 minutes)". The problem is that between charger behavior and taper, none of these cars actually charge at the same rate for a full hour when using L3 chargers. So, to get a "per hour" charging rate you're having to extrapolate the average power of a charging session over an hour. This might technically be a reasonable comparison but it isn't accurate to actual charging experience, which is why I don't like it.

@Boomer19 Even though you had driven 25 miles, your battery was probably not yet up to optimal charging temp yet. Charging with one other car at the site wouldn't have made a difference. Someone reported 212 kW charge rate NB today with a model 3LR. Charging with a lot of low-SoC cars *might* make a difference at this site since it's only fed by a 750kW transformer (and reportedly only a 500kW transformer across the way at the new V3 SB location). I charged there Monday evening the day it opened after a 3 hour or so drive and got 106kW at about a 35% SoC in my '17 X100D (about as good as it gets for me these days). This was adjacent to an S85 also charging (@tes-s).
thanks. yesterday i stopped back again to see and i only managed about 75-80kw/h
after preconditioning but i was a bit less than 50% SoC at arrival. also, 6 of 12 NB chargers aren’t operational yet it seems.
As we review 2019 Tesla did a great job in expanding the charging network in North America.
Several of them still have 2019 but they have updated many of them today. Originally, I thought ones that were in progress still had 2019 but I just checked a few more in Colorado and several (but not all) have been updated since this afternoon to 2020. You'd think they would just do one SQL update to change them all at once...

And I see that no. of SpC sites increased from 141 to 193 in that 2 year period
Not quite, each bar represents the number added in each year. So there were 141 sites added in 2018 and 193 sites added in 2019. Also these numbers are just for North America. At least that's how I interpret the graph.
It does not show the absolute number of Superchargers in the North America region, which is kinda important for interpreting the bars.
I did a quick eye-balling of the 2019 number and it's roughly consistent with the data at supercharge.info. [1] It shows North America going from (I think) 499 locations to 859 over that two-year period, an increase of 71%. I don't recall the exact scope of Elon Musk's comment, as in whether it applied to sites or stalls, and whether it included all Superchargers worldwide, but that would clearly result in different amounts of growth.

To clarify this graph represents the number of new supercharger locations added each year in North America. Tesla really ramped up installations in the 2nd half of 2019 with 113 new locations compared to 67 for the 2nd half of 2018. Sorry for not including the source supercharge.info

The dip between '15 & '16 should have been clue, but I missed that, but eyeballing quickly for 10 seconds from iPhone I assumed these are cumulative numbers for each year.

A good job with the total numbers, but the repartition of new sites can be questioned.
For example, it was a strange decision to totally ignore Quebec, the second largest market for EVs in North America. This has led to Levis being perhaps the most congested Supercharger site in the East. The other day, there were 16 cars competing for the 10 stalls there. Surely, the "Lebourgneuf" site across the river which has been "coming soon" since 2017 should have been a priority.
Here is the final update on the status of the North American "Coming Soon" superchargers targeted to open in 2019. About 44 sites opened in the U.S. and Canada (about 27 of which were in Canada) in the last month for a total of 190 in 2019 or 38% of sites that were "Coming Soon" depending on how you calculate it. Below is a list of recently opened superchargers and other sites about which there is at least some information on the location. Sites with confirmed locations are shown at supercharge.info; details on all sites is available at the Supercharger Progress wiki.
This is my last monthly update because it is taking too long to keep track of all the upcoming sites, especially since they tend to spend much longer in construction than they used to. I'll check back at the end of the year to see how many of 2020's "Coming Soon" supercharers actually get built.

Whats with the inaccurate occupied stall count at Supercharger sites? I see lots of reports in the individual SC site forums about the occupied counts being wrong. This morning, for instance, I went by the Carlsbad Supercharger site. I counted 7 cars at stalls out of 26 stalls total, yet the in car nav said only 7 stall were available out of 26. What gives?

I don’t think many people are aware of that page to be honest. There’s probably an email you can submit suggestions to as well.
