Tesla to cease RHD production

Yes makes sense. Sweden did this, apparently without too much chaos.

Would give us a wider choice of vehicles, including Teslas.
Sweden did do it in 1967, but it has land borders with other countries which were LHD, so the sooner you make that sort of change the better (imagine trying to do something like that now!!)

Incredibly, in 2009, Samoa went the other way and changed from LHD to RHD. Its stated reasoning? To align with RHD markets of Australia and NZ (where a lot of expat Samoans live), and have access to cheaper markets for imported vehicles! Allegedly it was too expensive importing vehicles from USA.

American Samoa - not far away - of course remains LHD.

Australia is an island. The purported and extremely minor benefits of changing to LHD (getting imported LHD cars slightly sooner and possibly slightly cheaper) would be completely overwhelmed by the costs of changing almost every other aspect of our road existence, from physically moving road signs to the other side of the road, changing traffic lights (all those right-turn arrows on the right hand side), having to import a full fleet of public buses with their entry doors on the other side before the change, as well as physically reconstructing things like motorway on-ramps which aren’t always symmetrical, and roads with tidal dimensioning (more lanes in one direction than the other). It would be a nightmare.
