Nope. They announced this around the time they announced range. IIRC it had to be done on some route in Cali

No, I think George or Elon mentioned it previously when they announced the new mileage ratings for the batteries.

It's pretty much an automatic award for F00001, IMO. He's probably already claimed it by now.

Folks, these should probably go into the separate thread: 400 Mile Range Prize

I'm sure Steve Jurvetson couldn't care less about hypermiling between SF and LA to claim some award from Tesla. The same probably applies to all 'founders'. The challenge is more likely going to be taken up by some of the avid enthusiasts out west who are also early SSLs.

My general point was that it's pretty much a given that anybody above, say, S50 (not SSL50) is essentially guaranteed not to win.
