Curious that they seemed poised to fight this & now...

I wonder what information made them do a nearly instant 180 from their previous stance.

If you just want to save lives, then the law is great.

If you need to find a balance between saving lives and livelihoods then the law is the wrong instrument to use.

Were they poised for a fight or were they just maintaining the status quo until they got some clarity on whether or not they are an "essential service" as per the Alameda county order (no) or "critical manufacturing" as per the Federal government (yes) and which of these contradictory directives should apply?

I wonder if this means they will finish any car that's been started so they don't leave any half built vehicle on the assembly line or if it's something else. I would imagine having a few more cars built and shipped would help TESLA and keep a few more customers happy.

And so many other manufacturers had to shut down-- what about the iphone manufacturer in China 1 one month ago... And as usual, tesla shuts down and is big news, other manufacturers, esp auto shut down and waiting for handouts.
