What's the source for this number? All I see is an older estimate from Troy at 141K.

Edit: I also read that the bloomberg estimate is 131K

Edit2: Notice the 140K estimate from our favorite bear lol.

I'm curious about something Gene says in this video and I've heard others say. He says this BD presentation was 9.4 on a 1-10 scale of complexity, while the autopilot day was 9.8.
This might be because my background is in Chemistry, but I work at an Oslo high school with medium level students aged 16-19 (like all Norwegian high schools). I marvelled at how simplified this BD presentation was how they had made complex stuff very very simple. I thought this could be used for my 16yo sophomore students in compulsory generic science. While the chemistry was too simplified to be used by my chemistry students. I would rate the BD presentation a 4 or 5 on his scale. And I know Gene Munster seems to know his Tesla stuff.
So my question is this so easy to understand for me simply because it's well aligned with my knowledge base and speciality? Was this a simple presentation for you guys? Or are actually even the competent analysts that weak on what I would say is general science? If that is so how can they say anything about Tesla?

PS: I would rate the AP presentation as a high 9 as well, and I do have decent programming and computer hardware knowledge.
PSS: This is not written as a look at me I'm smart thing, but I'm genuine wondering?
Unless you really work hard to enroll in the science classes, they are often skipped. Heck, there's a certain group of people that want algebra removed because they believe it has no practical purpose for the ordinary person. The analysts have a different issue--many only look at the current quarter's profit. If it doesn't affect this quarter's (or rarely, next quarter's) profit, it's a negative. They give no value (or negative value) for a company planning and investing for the future. They give high marks for letting employees go because it reduces costs. Quite a few F500 companies boost their stock prices that way.

Timestamps do not survive video embedding on this platform, we need an actual time please.
Sorry about that - edited my post, but jump to around 1hr 20min 20sec for the discussion about DBE and Maxwell. Elon's specific phrase, "We did acquire Maxwell a little over a year ago I guess? It's certainly a good company and everything, but the dry coating they had I would call "proof of concept..."

Not exactly a glowing compliment IMO, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

Everyone at the presentation (and online) was told about Kato/ Roadrunner and what it was doing. Some people just got to see it in action. Hardly actionable information disparity.
Luckily not actionable because no illegal information exchange happened as far as we know. How could any of that be actionable unless Tesla lied about material facts?
Legally everything was disclosed publicly, no inside information. What am I missing? Who could sue over the disclosures?

They should had rolled the new battery down a hill...with cool mood music.
Then have some slick hair smooth talkers explain why rolling batteries are so awesome.
In the background are some hot women in high heel's slowly touching the new cells.

In the end have have hector macho camacho fire off a fully automatic assault weapon into the cells./S
Yeah, 'cuz they got electrolytes. It's what battery manufacturing plants crave. :D

Cheers!

OMG! Do not click. Ridiculous blog trying to male something out of nothing. It was there for BD and now employees getting a chance to see it themselves.

the amount of people capitalizing on tesla continues to expand.

part of me believes some of this online presence was needed to counter disinformation and misinformation...i think overall it’s worked well since 2018 tipping point.

but post battery day i noticed a number of articles, blogs, tweets, that totally missed the mark.

we’re reaching a level where some of them are misinforming the general public with unproven theories and/or just bad info - the same outcome as MS media

...point is, be careful what information you trust. help them get the story straight when possible, preferably in tactful manner.

Some large investors got a tour. The majority were first escorted out. Although I enjoyed seeing Semi, Roasdster, ATV, and Cybertruck up close, the presentation was better via the web. From my car I couldn’t see the stage and large screens didn’t sync well with audio.

Yeah, the last time Tesla had an event that was worth a darn to visit in person was way back when they announced battery swapping. Attendance was comparatively light. Elon actually mixed with the crowd and talked to anyone there. Both he and Tesla got too big after that.
