Sounds like elon has been deliberately pausing the semi for quite a while due to the cell gap. No wonder he is so keen to ramp up cell production. More and more, teslas entire business is just the story of how rapidly they can churn out battery cells.
How could he not be? They've been cell constrained for awhile and semi is quite cell hungry per vehicle.....

Semi has same FSD technology as autos... did I hear that right?
I bet it will cost more than $8K. I'm guessing $40K based on 5x car batteries in the Semi.

Sounds like it is also defining and building out the megacharger network. Jerome: "350kw is not enough"

it’s been that way for years now

people will be asking, for years to come, what about this product, and this product, and this product??
from tesla and any other potentially decent manufacturer to come, the answer will be, we need batteries, otherwise they’d be to market.

this likely won’t change for 10+ years

My biggest concern about the structural battery (which is great engineering- the battery is no longer carried like luggage, but rather displaces structural members), is after an accident where the pack took an impact, how long do you have before some type of anomaly appears due to a stress fracture or something else due to the accident? I doubt you'll be able to go back to the insurance claim months/years later when your battery takes a sh!t and have it covered. Just a "worry" of mine....

If Adam Jonas wants to make a chance of ever been taken seriously by Elon, he will first need to update his valuation of Tesla. It’s abundantly clear AJ does not understand how Tesla is different from established car companies. Elon could not have been more clear explaining that on this call.

My days of not taking Adam Jonas seriously have come to a middle.
