I searched because I swear I got the link from here (maybe it was just on my YouTube feed), but couldn't find anything.... This new vid by Solving the Money makes me more pumped up than ever!

This video highlights a few sections of a podcast Ron Baron recently had with Bloomberg. Baron made the enlightening comment that if, say, you bought a McDonald's franchise for $1 million dollars, worked your tail off for a year, and in that first year you made $250,000, you would've been very happy as an investor with your 25% return. But in comparison, Tesla's China factory, which cost $1 billion, already made $2.5 billion for the company (I don't know if this is pre-tax, post-tax, etc, I'm simply repeating what Baron said), an astounding 250% return in year one!

Funny how the bears are always poo-pooing Tesla's regulatory credits as one-time events. But what they fail to mention is that the approximately $1.1 billion of credits Tesla has received/is going to receive from FCA will pay for one whole factory. And that factory is not a "one-time event" that goes away. No, the factory keeps generating billions in profits for years to come. And that's just for one factory, purchased for Tesla, and by their competition no less.

TD site just won't refresh without going back to the overview page. Very annoying, maybe I should stop refreshing (or breakdown and open ThinkorSwim).

Meanwhile, re the silence... I'm imagining I'm at a poker table when everyone says hold but quietly folds. I'm certain there are those of you cheering the HODL narrative while trading like a mad dog. Maybe some went to the bathroom, IDK. Of course you want ME and everyone else to hold. Then I realize there is absolutely no downside to this strategy. I'm in.

“We need to redo the factory without blowing up the cash flow accounting” Elon in the Sandy Munro interview at 21:40 mark.
Sandy said he was disappointed the model 3 didn’t have the single casting. Elon said we need to get Texas and Berlin running then said the above.
So looks like Fremont will undergo an upgrade and the 3 will then have major changes.
Feels like half of everyone in this thread had that figured out a couple of years ago.

Glad Elon and Sandy is catching up :D

I mean I appreciate the honesty but not a great way for the CEO to support his product.

I really, really really appreciate the honesty. He is genuine and faithful to a hopeful future (in development) and I find that so unique. Slick talking is not my interest even though often highly valued in a CEO.

This exchange between Sandy and Elon was good for both of them and wonderful to watch IMO.

Refreshing to see Elon not making excuses for the poor craftmanship on certain models. Again, I am thankful he has higher standards for his product. He is correct, a front and rear casting attached to stiff battery floor will yield repeatable close tolerances and increase production efficiency at the same time. True thinking out of the box stuff here. Put a unibody on such a platform and the improved NVH will be immediate. May explain the weight loss of "refreshed" S. Would not be surprised they are using improved castings, interesting that Tesla can make such a change and not have to recertify the vehicle ( recertify is expensive).

Is this the profits in GME and AMC being migrated to a TSLA position?
Well, in my case at least some of this was. Added a nice little chunk thanks to that.

I assume that most of us have a combination. I've learned a lesson to not try and trade too much. I have a core set of shares in my head that I never touch, so my hodlr shares range from 100% to maybe 80% of my position depending on what is going on. The other bit is options or trading shares. When we get big dips I find it hard not to buy more but when it goes up I often want to decrease my exposure.
