The only moat Tesla have are their top of the line engineers and their drive inspired by Elon Musk. Everything they create could be commoditized or stolen.
Sure, someday. Eventually. But when? How long will it be for that to happen?

Every day, Tesla's team just out innovate the stolen/clone productsSure, someday. Eventually. But when? How long will it be for that to happen?
And finally, there are the Teslas. Almost every local I spoke to talked about the number of Teslas, though a couple did point out that the company had opened a new factory in nearby Storey, Nevada. Nonetheless, there they are: The Teslas blowing through intersections. The Teslas stuck in the snowy ditch. The Teslas spun out on steep Northwoods Boulevard. Again.
This video added some clarity to his charging video. He complained that you had to schedule a charge time and it capped him at 80%. While he was "Add(ing) current position as a charging location" he was thinking that was some sort of scheduling screen. In the charging screen he had the charging set to charge only to 80%.Munros New ID4 review just out:
WOW: He really digs into VW: He actually gets furious with the navigation. He couldn't get it to work.
It is becomming clear that Munro is suffering from Tesla withdrawal syndrome, specifically re. tech.
Pre-Tesla the ID4 might have gotten a better review from, but now he finds the UI to be slow, UN-intuitive and outright annoying. He reaches peak irritation when it turns out that the map he spent precious minutes trying to get working is available, but only using voice commands: "I asked for the damn thing to turn on the map, but I didn't address it properly!" Dripping with scorn.
Once you go Tesla...
Turnabout is fair play. Tesla has been scrutinized (and still is *cough panel gaps cough*) so it’s only right that if you’re building a Tesla killer or just trying to copy (looking at you Lucid & Rivian & Mercedes & Porsche &, &) you SHOULD be held to the same ridiculous standards as Tesla has been all along - particularly in any areas of perceived weakness. The flip side is, that precisely for this reason it is not really a good idea for the brands in question, because they face harsh scrutiny when trying to measure up. Guess they will learn over time.
OT: Today may be the day everyone looks back on as a major turning point for SpaceX. Exclusivity clearly demonstrates the U.S. government acknowledges them as top dog.Indirectly related to Tesla, but SpaceX just won a contract to put astronauts on the moon.
The best map is no map. VW's mistake was making them available at all..I watched the video and what I don't get is that, like Sandy, I see no way to get to maps without using your voice. Did VW really not provide any other way to get to the maps/navigation other than voice?
This is a monthly (3rd Friday) options expiration day, which implies more interest than a weekly but less than a quarterly (Triple Witching) expiration.todays price action was pretty subpar huh. looks like finish under 740 just like they wanted...
Not all that long ago, I thought the day SpaceX went public would mark when Elon leaped everyone to become the richest man in the world.I sure do wish SpaceX was publicly traded...
To the moon Alice!
Not risky. Elon would have gone to the moon with or without NASA just like he’s going to Mars regardless. That’s a fundamental difference between him and everyone else; he’s just going to do with or without others’ support. NASA did something smart in helping SpaceX originally. They continue to be smart here.OT: Today may be the day everyone looks back on as a major turning point for SpaceX. Exclusivity clearly demonstrates the U.S. government acknowledges them as top dog.
This is an absolute nuclear bomb dropped on top of Blue Origin. A huge, demoralizing miss. Well, Bezos now has extra time on his hands to shake things up.
This tweet by Elon last week now seems like it could have been risky.
Except I think they wanted just under 730...todays price action was pretty subpar huh. looks like finish under 740 just like they wanted...
Still got 4 hours to get it there.Except I think they wanted just under 730...
But green, so there’s that.todays price action was pretty subpar huh. looks like finish under 740 just like they wanted...
