Saw this moments ago from @hedgemind

$TSLA Early 13F filing data shows institutions are big sellers of $TSLA in Q4. 97 of 680+ existing holders reported a 84% reduction of shares. Though still too early to draw conclusion, the trend may not be positive to TSLA. ~17% of institutions reported Q4 holdings as of today
The easy conclusion to draw is that they sold high and now can buy low as shares dipped below $300.

Somewhere around the 2:56min mark he says it's a small area that is "already mapped". To me this is not self-driving. Elon has mentioned that Tesla could have done this already. I don't think it's super difficult for a self-driving company to take a small area and tweek their software to drive JUST those few roads. At that point I had no interest in the rest of the clip. It sounds to me like it is specifically programed to make the circle. Waymo has been doing that for years.

I am quite sure that all full self driving technologies will need mapping the roads before driving given road fully autonomous. But Tesla have a lot of cars to map the roads. Also this MKBHD video shares some similarities with Navigate On Autopilot, so I have a feeling this is pretty close how FSD will work.

Chances of another SEC investigation for insider trading? I’m not saying that Tesla would be guilty, but such perfect timing would warrant some scrutiny?
Doubtful. I don't think many people would have been privy to the full scope of layoff plans. Maybe two dozen.

I'd suspect corporate espionage or a 3rd party leak (like a consultant, or an auditor) before insider trading.

Also remember that this type of deal doesn't just happen in a few hours. They're hedging a 2B+ position. That kind of deal takes planning and negotiation.

And hey, there is still the possibility for perfect timing. Hedging their bet before earnings? Probably not a bad idea.

At most companies, managers get asked to prepare a contingency plan: who would you cut if you absolutely needed to? How would you make do? Some companies require their managers to constantly keep this plan updated.

When it comes to actually making the cuts, it's usually kept very quiet - Elon and 20 other people would be the only ones who really knew about it. Then they just execute the plans up to the level of cost savings they want. It's painful and often shocking for even senior managers, but it happens.

When the words "mapped" were used by the software company in this case I am pretty darn sure they meant every single small detail. Potholes, exact location of stoplight bulbs, exact location of stop signs and where exactly to stop, etc. Real self driving will recognize the stop signs and know where to stop on it's own or it's not self driving. Otherwise a few weeks later a new stop sign can get added and an accident happens. They are not just talking about a map of where the road goes.

Now their software is gauging on it's own how to deal with traffic.... but that's nothing new.
