CNBC just reported that TSLA is benefiting from higher oil prices... a first?
And Business Insider reported that Tesla
"beat" it's own guidance.
When a company guides to a range, in this case 360,000-400,000, and then comes within that range, you could say they beat the low end of their guidance but I don't recall anyone reporting it as an overall "beat" without specifying the "low-end". It would have been more correct to say "narrowly made the low end of their guidance". Yes, I recognize that 367,500 is a strong showing over 360,000 but it would still be more correct than to say "beating its own guidance". Nowhere in the story does it say what their guidance actually was. I call this as "meeting" their own guidance, not "beating" it.
My point is, what's up at Business Insider?

Typically they have the most negatively slanted Tesla stories of almost any publication. And where is Linette Lopez when we need her?
