I am still expecting much worse in the next 2-4 weeks so still have my buy orders in at 290 and 190 levels! still trying to get to my goal of 100shares.

I could understand not wanting to buy at 500 level given the uncertainty of this week or the next one.......but to keep arbitrary price levels like 190 and not buying when the when stock could possibly retrace back to 400 or 350 is not logical investing. It just means you're likely going to miss out on a dip and then recovery.

Agree. I am waiting a week before even looking at stocks. It was 2 weeks before, but it looks like congress might pass that 2.5T (getting bigger each day) stimulus package and that was set as one of my conditions for buying a tranch early on. Currently the only thing people should be buying are inflation hedges.

With Elon's comments on a Tesla HVAC plus HEPA filter, plus possible water filtration product, has anyone kept track of all the Tesla Home products they appear to be working on?

Soon enough, I think it may be worth fitting all these pieces together into a full Tesla smart home with extremely high energy efficiency, mass produced building components and far lower construction cost.

2. Whole-House Energy Management System

4. Powerwall

6. Lighting systems?

On the water filtration system, has anyone any idea how much water the HVAC could produce? I doubt it, but could it actually be possible for Tesla to make a fully off grid house product with no mains water or electricity?

Elon: "Could maybe tap the condensation for water too. Seems odd that HVAC systems make pure, fresh water & just dump it on the ground."

Could you point me to the sources saying the deal has growing to 2.5 trillion? I was honestly hoping they'd get it up to 3 trillion. Hopefully they are upgrading the 1,500 check from just a one-time thing to at least monthly

That said, I can't discount the possibility that this bloodbath has one more major down leg left.

We still haven't seen any major bankruptcies happen. As much as I wouldn't want to see that, I think it's a safe bet some will happen.

I fear Thursday's US unemployment report is going to be scary bad

How delayed is the data in that report? I mean, is it going to include data from last or this week? Similar report came out few days ago in Poland, but the general comment in the media is that it shows the shape of things that have passed and is greatly irrelevant now.

Today's price action is a nice sign of things to come.
I always click on the 6-month view to maintain perspective.

Well, some yes, but not quite all.

A few years ago yes, but as we can see today, algos don't hesitate. Drops of 20% or more make it tough for a computer to kick out "Wait" recommendations.

Makes the markets weaker and much more volatile, but that's the world we live in. Buying/Selling in chunks seems to be the only way to succeed now, resizing chunks as pricing moves up/down.

Very interesting post and really reinforces the fact that Tesla are so much more than a "car company". :)

I'm back into TSLA. Some ARKK and AMZN too, after having been completely flat for nearly two weeks.

Welcome back! :)

Tesla friendly place
There’s a lot more bad (not Tesla related) news to come. In Spain, the military has begun disinfection of nursing homes, and they find dead elderly people just being left behind by their caretakers. News like will create panic and despair in the financial markets. Let’s hope it doesn’t get that extreme in the USA, but I see multiple tens of percent downside.

Maybe in Spain it causes panic but not in America. We’re a long way from leaving our elders dead in nursing homes.

My mother is in a long term care facility and I’ve received continued updates on status, policy changes etc... by phone and email. They’ve set up a system for loved ones to Skype. They’ve encouraged families to send care packages including electronics (cellphones, tablets which they will help residents use to contact family). They’ve given specific instructions on best times throughout the day to speak to nurses, directors of departments etc... They’ve increased their recreational program, which already was substantial, to keep residents entertained, engaged and upbeat. And so on.

It is never productive to base decisions, philosophies or otherwise on worst case or best case scenarios, for somewhere in the middle lies the truth — in ALL things, including Tesla and TSLA.

Good to see the market up today. On the urging of my spouse, I diversified (.01% :p) by adding some ROKU shares. Didn’t get them at the bottom, but they’re making me some of that virtual monopoly money now.

On a side note: Decades ago I came up with what I thought was a brilliant idea to solve gang rivalries. Find an empty warehouse, supply it with weapons, and lock the doors. Three outcome options; last man standing goes free or take their heads out of their bums and be better human beings or some combination. I’d place my money on number 1.

I feel an island could be utilized in the same way. But not my island.

Yes, that’s how I’m viewing a bunch of you; taking sides, joining a gang, poking each other with sticks, riling everyone up. While entertaining from the peanut gallery over here, I am contemplating the intriguing view we’re supposedly all on the same side.

Clearly, we are not.

I've started a thread or five on this across the energy forums. Tesla is clearly setting up to be ubiquitous in your life. Being able to remove most of your carbon footprint, live a much more fun life, AND save money is gonna be bigger than the iPhone.

With pricetags ranging from $50-200k for car/solar/storage/etc plus ongoing subscriptions around $50-300/month, this is quite clearly the path to $1T+ valuation.

Unclear when even the folks in this forum will wake up to this reality.

Sure because I feel nice today:

House Democrats introduce a $2.5 trillion coronavirus stimulus plan as Senate bill stalls

But usually google 2.5 trillion should do.

If I remember correctly, when I was talking about the condition for each of my tranches. The bill I mentioned was only $900 bil. So.... ya.
