Have any of you old time investor who have been though split's seen anything like this?
I mean it's seem like a large brokerage house should not fall apart so easily.

No, never before. I've been through lots of splits and don't recall anything like what I'm reading about this morning.

That seems to lend some credence to the idea of short selling "funny" business.

So with all the brokers having 'trouble" functioning.... now will you agree that Hiro/Elon put some tripwires in the woods? Even this ant could see something was off when the overlords designed the split this way.
Although seeing the stock held at $480 shows me we are all still living in the ant farm, and not the real world. yet.

For those of you (like me) that can’t access their old options yet but want to sell some, I sold 2 calls (Oct and Nov) that I had bought back around 1,500 this morning by selling to open 5 of the equivalent split-adjusted calls. So for an 1,800 strike price, I sold 5 360 calls. Once the old calls adjust they will just cancel out the sold calls from today (not sure if they will cancel automatically or if I would have to call the broker to do it manually). This way I could sell a couple calls today even though I technically can’t touch the old ones.
Just imagine the FOMO S&P500 committee is going through. they had a chance to add at ~$300 (split adjusted) post earnings.
Man is that good popcorn or what?

Not selling. Sept and oct will be huge. Into the $7xx’s! Still not selling. Might quit my job though at that point!

I feel you're very smart for buying the mountain. When the oceans rise, it might wind up being an island. All other islands will be under water, like the shorts are today.
