Apparently, MLS Soccer Club owned by David Beckham was hoping to get sponsored by Tesla.

Lol....the Cheney/Rumsfeld interpretation of "free markets", marketed by Reagan and in place since the 70's, is literally the only reason we needed Germany to begin this renewables revolution without us.

Sure a libertarian from South Africa is now scaling everything globally, but I would argue it's despite the tooth-and-nail efforts of Reaganomicists who've been trying to bury Tesla since inception so they can maintain highly profitable centralized fossil production.

We're far more corrupt than we are "free market". Just take a look at how our utilities dictate state policy and self-regulate in the US. Never happen in democratic socialist Germany.
I would argue that Elon’s decision to build the Cybertruck in Texas is a direct message to conservative America. A very persuasive argument for free market conservatism.

Amazing to read some of the comments from that article....
  • if im still breathing in 20 years i plan to be driving a vintage 2020 pickup
  • One can only imagine the carnage when and if the majority of the Woke Progressive vehicles with self driving self breaking are let loose on the streets of Houston.
  • Progressives know self driving vehicles are not going to work, because we listen to the experts, not ad-men.
  • It seems more likely that once on fire the men tried to escape and checked all the doors but since none would open moved s far from the fire as they could in hopes of rescue.

Of course Tesla knows of the dangers of their cars but doesn't care as long as they make money, it doesn't matter if you die at the hands of their faulty software. They need to be banned from testing with customers on public roads.
  • Wow! One man was 59 years old and the other one was 60 years old. I would have expected them to be in their 20s or 30s!!
  • I test drove one of these cars and didn't like it at all.It brakes too late with the self braking system and I was afraid of hitting others.I tested it after driving a Subaru Outback which hit another car because it's self braking system did not stop the car fast enough
I don’t think all Tesla owners are “woke progressives”?

Ignore the comments from click2houston. The people there don’t have an agenda against Tesla, they just hate everything that is based on science and reality. It’s the only local news website for the city that allows comments, and for some reason, it’s full of conspiracy theories and hoaxes. It has become a local 4chan.

The amount of FUD with respect to Giga Berlin in Germany is astonishing high, even public funded ZDF is spreading it.

I am not sure Germany is all that rosy. Tesla is fighting for FUD at all front, either within MEGA, Woke or democratic socialist Germany.

I wouldn't be surprised if one or more German automakers are inspiring this FUD.

Ugly incident with Autopilot (apparently): two dead after a collision on a tree. Allegedly, no one was in the driver seat.
There seems to be a lot of speculation at this point. If accurate, this statement lends credence to AP not being an issue,

Well, apart from Tesla not doing sponsorships, one might think the MLS club in Austin could have an advantage if they ever start.

No one here at TMC knew Tesla didn't do sponsorships.

There are two MLS teams in Los Angeles, one in San Jose in Silicon Valley, and then the new one in Austin. Although since Elon moved to Texas Tesla's Design Center might move out of Hawthorne-Los Angeles.

The Darwin Award of Autopilot hall of shame has to be created

Tesla does not waste its time fighting FUD, they just execute. As for Germany, I for once drove over to see a friend IRL today (in Munich) - bringing my bicycle on the Model 3's towbar rack, so we could go for a ride together outside in the decent weather. As I park in the street he comes out to talk and while I unload my bicycle all kinds of passersby start asking questions and suddenly 20 minutes have gone showing the frunk, the trunk, the lower trunk, the UMC, the charging sites integrated in the navigation, how much space is there in the driver's seat, how much in the back, the glass roof, etc. (Yes, I let a stranger sit in the car, I was not going to sit in it myself for the whole day). One guy sounded like he would order using my referral code...

Just like the past ten years, FUD has no impact on demand. On the topic of anecdotes while driving, the other BEVs I saw was one Model S and one Taycan.

PS. In Germany Tesla is clearly depending on a fruitful collaboration with the state of Brandenburg - but this state has clearly been chosen for their understanding of the importance of becoming home to the EU's first Gigafactory - and thus getting ahead of the other German auto making states.

What is taking Tesla so long to deliver the S/X refresh? Weekend rant incoming.

IIRC, Feb was supposed the month of the first deliveries. So what happend? A missing piece here or there, sure. But wouldn‘t Elon move heaven and hell to get a missing trim piece and would it take 2 month at least? Guess not. So it has to be something more substantial. So what could it be? Did they figure their Kato Road roadmap is progressing faster than planned and a delay of S/X refresh could bring 4680 right now instead of late 2021 with Plaid+? What else is worth / could cause a few month of delay?
It is weird that it's taking so long - but I doubt it is a real priority internally for Tesla now. Compared to starting up the next 2 Gigas, or scaling Y production in China, the S/X being a couple of month's late isn't a big deal.

If he was that concerned he wouldn't have sent Jerome off to build Semi's until it was done.

Here's where I've determined that the car crashed. The fire hydrant and manhole are just to the left of the yellow line and somewhat below the arrowhead. That's more obvious in a Google Earth expanded view:

It appears that Autopilot could not have been engaged at that location, unless preventive measures were purposely overridden. Investigators should be looking into intoxicants. Either that or suicide.

From the tire tracks, Mona Lisa Vito (in "My Cousin Vinny") should be able to explain exactly what happened.
