🤔
I just reflected on what likely may be a $2B profit for Tesla in Q3:

Since its inception July 1 2003, it took Tesla:
71 Quarters to reach $1 Billion in profits, and then
2 Quarters to reach the next $1 Billion 😮
If you have those numbers to hand, would make a great bar-chart...

And yet, this Earnings cycle is DIFFERENT:
  • for years we heard a steady chorus that "the competition is coming"
  • the "big boys" could build EVs en masse whenever they choose ('cuz dey big)
  • Tesla couldn't even hire top manufacturing engineer talent (career suicide)
  • Model 3 ramp was "manufacturing hell" as Elon + Telsa learned the ropes
  • Now Ford hires the former head of Tesla manufacturing for their EV program
  • Ford hopes to make 160K/yr electric F-150 years from now (we'll see)
  • the circle is now complete, and there can be just one outcome:
The competition isn't coming (anytime soon).

TL;dr Use the Schwartz, Luke!
I was sure competition was there in the form of Bolts and Konas EV until they disappeared as fast as wildfire

Why does every quarter I feel more excited than actual Christmas

Ho, Ho, Ho. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Last year at Christmas, my neighbor leaned three garden hoes against the tree in his front yard. Ever since, I can’t get it out of my head. And, I’ve developed an overwhelming urge to wear red suits.

Off topic? I have it on good authority, it’s Christmas time at Tesla.

Hey! That's just like me. In 2020 I made my first million, then in 2020 I made my 2nd million. I'm just like Tesla!

Model Y is going strong in the Netherlands this month, currently the best selling EV with 151 sold (Skoda Enyak second with 97 and Niro third with 91). Enyak and Niro were in the top three in July and August, together with the Mach-e. The latter is this month (7 September) at 33.

Model Y ranks third place of total cars, beaten by the runner up VW polo by one car.

Total EVs sold 994, and total person vehicles sold 4204 (23,7%).

Did someone mention Mark Spiegel? SMR has released a video highlighting points from a Spiegel interview.

Why does anyone even care what that loser has to say?

His "fund" is only seven figures (I'm sure some people posting here have more worth in just TSLA than his entire stupid fund) and with ten+ years of investing he can't even beat T-bills in terms of returns.
