He says when they were observing QuantumScape's "solid state" batteries that they were more a "semi-solid" than actual true solid state battery. That was news to me.
It's been known that QS is using a gel electrolyte not a true solid one. They don't like to talk about it of course.

Edit: I should note that I think Sandy is wrong about the comparison to QS, Tesla just uses minimal electrolyte but I'm pretty sure it's still liquid.

Sure, in ten or fifteen years, minimum. All computers get obsoleted eventually. It's not just about building a lab prototype, there's production and cost as well.
if DOJO accelerates FSD by 2-3 years, and Tesla recovers 50% of the cost of DOJO via "training as a service" it is well worth it.

If DOJO means Optimus is able to do useful work 2-3 years earlier again that is very useful.

DOJO will more than justify the amount of money spent on it which will be very small compared to 2-3 years of revenue from FSD and Optimus.

Short term the competition may be other specialised NN training platforms.

If / when something affordable "off-the-shelf" exists which accelerates FSD and Optimus exists it may be a true that DOJO is no longer needed. But my hunch is DOJO will be cheaper an better than the alternative for at least a few years, long enough to count.

I wonder when big institutions will come back to TSLA? Once Elon tweets he’s done selling? Once Twitter turns profits? TSLA became a hot potato for them since they can see a -5% the day after they purchased for reasons they can’t control.
It probably needs to be forced such as Moodies upgrading the credit rating. Then both investment grade ratings will make some funds buy.

Good Q4 to show that all these China rumours are false.

At the moment the stock sucks a big one. If the stock market pumps, you'll get the same returns from AAPL, QQQ or Googl, If the stock market dumps it drops 2-4 times as much, if Elon sells we dump, if China rumours are true we dump. Why would big money want to take a new position in this stock right now? It would be a lot easier to take up a position once the stock gains some momentum upward.

I think it would be better if that was him selling rather than capitulation.

Elon's actual selling volume doesn't matter at this point. Look at this morning's bum's rush to $187 because shortzes HOPE that Elon might be selling today. Whoops! Losers... :p

IMO, the only thing that will matter is the next CPI, and what the FED does about it come December. In the mean time, shortzes and hedgies try to fleece Retail by feeding them a steady diet of W/S B/S. So... B.A.U. :p

Cheers!

Sandy is right, there isn't a lot of electrolyte in the 4680s. We've seen the cell teardowns, and it's minimal electrolyte.

It's still liquid, as Sandy said in the video, but it's VERY minimal.

SANDY - discussing their 4680 cell breakdown - "I think they [Tesla] are changing the chemistry on the fly . . . and I think they are within spitting distance of something equivalent to QuantumScape solid state batteries".

This is per Munro's cracking open of a 4680 and it was "much drier than we were expecting". He says when they were observing QuantumScape's "solid state" batteries that they were more a "semi-solid" than actual true solid state battery. That was news to me.

Well Jordan from Limiting Factor just posted a video today early on Patreon, no change in DBE status of anode / cathode in June batteries (from Munro) vs January.

Rates this helpful but really wish there was a not related option-
Institutional banks, hedge funds and other financial players don’t care about any of what you mentioned. (Imo)

They want you to sell your shares and go into something else, while they load up at insanely cheap rates and then, and only then will they take the brakes off and let it rise while you try and jump back in and catch some of their gains.

Reminder- they can see your stop losses, what your cost basis is and everything else.
They know where the pain is, they want you to be frustrated, only then will they let you get a little taste.
HODL is the only way to take away their ammo.
The rest gives them reasons to keep going.

I don't see how the amount of liquid electrolyte relates at all to a gel electrolyte or a chemistry change.

"I think they [Tesla] are changing the chemistry on the fly . . . and I think they are within spitting distance of something equivalent to QuantumScape solid state batteries"

Cell chemistry is not his strong suit.

Pipe down and watch the damn video. I'm just reporting what is being said, and Sandy said they LITERALLY had a university chemistry lab take the cell apart. Jordan from the The Limiting Factor was on the call and seemed to be nodding in agreement with Sandy's assessment when he was talking about "being in spitting distance from a solid state."

I know you own QS stock, but stop being emotionally invested and defensive.

I "watched the damn video" already, who's being emotional and defensive? I'll say it again, a small amount of a liquid electrolyte has no relation to a gel electrolyte. Has nothing to do with my remaining TINY investment in QS, I sold most of it when it took off over $100. You need to chill out dude.

Need some glasses for that Tesla Tequila?

Wait. You set down your tequila glass? 🤔

Here is a well balanced and well presented view of Elon agreeing with your assumptions but also stating Elon is the reason TSLA will also go much much higher because Elon being Elon is what made Tesla today.

Thanks. This is the first response I got that was actually respectful. I did just watch the video though and I don't really see anything that's reassuring other than it's happening before so it should happen again
