Listen, all you greedy bastiges!

We should be grateful if the SP only rises a mere one to three percent... every single trading day from here on out.

No need to get all caught up in the mania of holding too high an expectation for an exponentially growing company and its rising stock.

We should feel a little bit of shame for imagining portfolios measured in billions when we could live just as happily on a few hundred millions. Am I right? 🤷‍♂️

My momma used to say, "It's okay to be happy, just don't be happy-happy" and there may be application for such sage wisdom to be applied for us, here.

Now, back to your normally scheduled HODLing.

Some tea leaves that I have been reading. Over the past year, it seemed like relations between Tesla and China were cooling in line with relations between the US and China. A lot was wrapped up in this, including the Chinese ruling establishment freaking out about the capabilities of Musk Inc. in general (Starship, Starlink, FSD cameras, etc.). This seemed to lead to pause of a new Shanghai factory for the next generation vehicle.

With his trip this week, Musk seems to have warmed these relations somewhat. Musk did not meet Li Qiang, but was able to meet his successor Chen Jining. In March, Li Qiang met with Tim Cook, so you could judge the relative importance of Apple and Tesla to China, if you were so inclined.

Elon significantly de-risked China with his recent Taiwan comments.

But was that ever real, or was it just people exercising their imaginations and repeating what they heard?

My tea leaves are inconclusive regarding that. From what Musk said regarding Starlink, there was at least some negative communication. And there has been lots of semi-public discourse among the Chinese establishment regarding Starlink and Starship.

It would all be more about whether Tesla would keep using China as a major export base. They're probably more worried about the Mexico Gigafactory being an export hub for a cheap car than US-China relations.

Pardon, anybody know what the 3-letter-acronym "SDS" means in regards to Tesla China? As in "Tesla China SDS teams"?

@elonmusk "Congratulations to Giga Shanghai & Tesla China SDS teams for their excellent work overcoming many obstacles over many years!!" /Twitter (1 hr ago)

TIA.

My best guess is something along the lines of "Sales and Delivery Support." But here's some other possibilities:

"Self-Driving System"
"Software Development Support"
"Service and Diagnostics Support"

Could well be. Given that Elon used the plural team(s) I'd put less weight on the 1st 2 choices, given that there are likely just one such team each for all of China.

Something like "Service and Delivery Specialists" might fit, too.

Lol, damn 3LA's...

Cheers!

We need only remember that people are generally the same no matter what their nationality. So in the same way people *here* speculate, guess, conclude, make up stuff that fits their narrative, misunderstand, criticize because whatever etc…, you can be sure people in China, Poland, Africa etc… are also prone to those same things.

It’s a wonder any of us are able to get along at all. Like ever.
