I bought a Tesla umc cable from the Tesla store back in March to keep with my car as I use the original at home.

This was the first weekend I needed it and I removed it from the package for the first time and got a plug that doesn't fit into my car.

Can anyone identify it? European plug? Older Tesla plug? Hopefully Tesla will make this right. IMG_20180729_182614.jpg IMG_20180729_182646.jpg IMG_20180729_182614.jpg IMG_20180729_182646.jpg IMG_20180729_182722.jpg IMG_20180729_182551.jpg IMG_20180729_182606.jpg IMG_20180729_182556.jpg

Looks like it's the one for the original Roadster.

People make mistakes. They probably just sent you the wrong one.

I was fortunate as I was only 20mi away from a supercharger. I almost took my car on a trip with no super chargers within 150mi of my destination and would have charged there... or not charged and had to be tow trucked 150mi or overnighted a cable or ranger.

FYI check your cable before you leave.

Ask Tesla to give you a car that matches the charger they sent. :D

European charger. I needed to replace my gen2 UMC when I got my Model 3 because it was throwing faults. They gave me the same one as yours. Then I had to wait almost a month for the correct UMC to come from the factory.

I’ll be tickled pink if I see a Model S instead of a 3 when I show up for delivery!

Def looks like the Type 2 European standard. The box/package should have indicated European and not North American. The HPWC’s say NA or (I assume) EU/Type 2.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like Tesla will make it right but should have some sort of system so this doesn’t happen. The nematode 14-50 adapter said NA on it. I was an engineer in my prior life, and keeping the assembly lines separate or run days different would avoid this error altogether.

Nope, I have one of those and that is not the plug, at least not for the USA.
