Tesla unplugged usb stick right before $20k hit and run :(

I just got my MCU upgrade service on my model 3 this week. Yay!
Unfortunately during that time Tesla unplugged my usb stick, and didn't plug it back in.

Last night someone did a big hit and run on my car which was parked on the street... axle broken (front wheels pointed inwards), bunch of panels broken etc. I'm guessing the car is totalled.

The police really want to know if any video is extractable from the car, but the usb stick is sitting in the cup holder.
Does anyone know if the car would have anything recorded from a parked car accident with latest hardware?
Is there anyone specific at Tesla they can talk to?

They remove it when servicing vehicles pretty sure. It is your responsibility to put it back. I am sorry this happened but the screen even tells you on the top-right if the dashcam is working or not.

Do you have Sentry mode enabled? Since it was parked Tesla may be able to get Sentry mode videos as they have been uploading them in case the USB drive gets stolen.

According to that link, enabling Sentry Mode automatically opts in to the 72 hours cloud backup, is that right?

That new feature might only work when you have a usb plugged in

Man, that really bites! Good luck with Tesla. Hope they have your 72 hours Sentry Mode upload available.

Sentry mode works with no USB but it doesn't record unless there is a USB. If theft alarm goes off sentry mode sends video to Tesla if there was a USB. No USB, no video.
