I have an S Plaid on order. Order about a month ago and no VIN yet. Makes me wonder if I will get the new headlights. Since I obviously haven't been paired with an existing car in stock as the article suggests I would have.

You can say that all you like. You’re 100% wrong though and it sounds foolish.

There will be an easy way to tell the likelihood soon. If the headlight comes up as a new Rev in the parts catalog it will be easy to drop in new ones. If it’s a new part number with a BuildDate/VIN cut over good luck.

I also think if it was an easy drop in replacement they would not have required the production line to stop. Probably new wiring. Parts get revved all the time and don’t stop production. Significant changes require production line changes.

It’s possible they are making other changes too.

Same here.. I have an ETA window starting March 8th to the 19th I will skip the VIN if it is not the new lights

Articles this morning confirming removal of radar and shift to pure vision on S/X, that lends more credence to the line pause and other updates working their way in.

My VIN was assigned the day the news leaked of the line starting back up again with the new headlights. And delivery was scheduled a couple days later.

You should give your local delivery center a call and ask them the birth date for your VIN. They'll be able to tell you at least that much...

What’s the source on your paid retrofit claim that they won’t offer?

Most companies will use old stock (especially refurb units) for warranty replacements rather than new stock let alone a new revision. Our company and affiliate companies does the same, cell phone companies do it all the time. It is common practice.
