Instead of an USB Flash Drive, I would recommend using an High Endurance microSD XC Card or a Max Endurance microSD XC Card
because they are more reliable than USB Flash Drive.

In particular the SD Cards can work in extreme temperature range between -25°C and 85°C (-13°F to 185°F),
which is important as the memory chips overheat when used.

You will also need an USB microSD Card Reader or an USB 3.0 USB C microSD Card Reader.

only problem is the readers suck. I've gone through three readers in three years. Even had one corrupt an entire card.
I think once you consider the failure rate of both parts, a quality usb stick ends up on top
