Tesla will introduce few "other variants of Model S" next year.

We'd like to do an electric supercar. We have this idea for an electric truck that could really be a big improvement in truck technology. I'm really excited about bringing out a whole series of cars that address a wide range of consumer interests and needs. I do think it will be interesting to do self-driving cars, perhaps working in conjunction with Google, who's quite close to us in Silicon Valley. Larry Page and Sergey Brin are longtime friends of mine, so it would be great to work with them, maybe to do self-driving [cars].

How would AWD affect the range of the existing batteries? I would guess it would decrease the range, but how much?

My understanding from reading about X is that the extra front motor also lets the car regenerate energy from the front wheels, something that RWD Model S cannot do. So with some aggressive regen setting, I might expect the range difference to be minimal.

I heard about a 40kwh variant of the model s in 2009 mm probably available after awd, wagon, ultra mega performance version, model x bluestar, the van and the pick up truck.
