Tesla will delay workers’ return to its factory in Fremont, Calif.

A report from CNBC said Tesla asked furloughed workers last week to come back to their jobs on Wednesday, Apr. 29. However, a report on Monday citing Tesla internal message boards, said a human resources rep updated the directive.

“Per the direction of the executive leadership team, we will not be returning to work Wednesday, April 29. Please disregard all communication and directives on returning to work this week,” the post said, according to CNBC.

Alameda County, where the Fremont factory is located, plans to extend its health orders through the end of May in attempt to slow the spread of the COVID-19. The order says Tesla can operate at minimum basic levels only.

Workers at the California factory build the Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y vehicles for sale in North America and Europe. The company is also producing cars at its Shanghai plant.

Tesla plans for restarting the factory could be offered during the company’s first-quarter report scheduled for Wednesday.
