Just asking - are all you techie types are happy to pass over your Tesla.com password to generate the token? Are you changing your password on there after the token is generated?

The Tesla.com user/password are not stored - Security - TeslaFi.com

• Tesla.com username and passwords used to create a Tesla.com token. The Tesla.com credentials are not saved within TeslaFi.com.
• A user generated token can be used as an alternative to TeslaFi.com generating the Tesla.com token.
• Tesla API token are not displayed on TeslaFi.com by default.

Once you have got a token, I believe that it can be periodically refreshed without further use of Tesla.com credentials - hence why they can be discarded after first use.

I don't have an issue passing a reputable website, such as TeslaFi, my Tesla credentials for one time use.

I believe that changing password will invalidate the current token.

Yep I feel fairly comfortable about providing them with this. As has been said if you subsequently change the password that invalidates the token, however that's also a positive from a security perspective that there's a way of shutting off all other access!
