Teslamotors.com now redirects to tesla.com - new change? (July 16, 2016)

I just noticed that if I type teslamotors.com as my usual way of going to Tesla's website, it now redirects to simply tesla.com. This came up because my 1Password password manager app didn't recognize the new domain when I was logging into MyTesla.

I know this is relatively minor and makes more sense to most consumers, but I've been accustomed to typing/auto filling teslamotors.com

it is like facebook. drop the the, it is cleaner.
with tesla motors and what looks like tesla solar, tesla seems like the right description for the company.
I would not be surprise if we see tesla data also. put sats up, instead of using 3g for data in cars.

Tesla was able to acquire tesla.com a few months back. Tesla.com was redirecting to teslamotors.com prior to this change since then. I'm guessing it just took them a little while to execute the actual move without breaking other links...

tsla.com also redirects now to the Tesla site (less than a month ago, it redirected to Buick).

I'm probably a bit slow to find this out but I can now use the UK design studio to configure an X without having a reservation or anything.

I've been waiting for the "TMC" --> "TC" debate to begin.

Unfortunately somebody owns the "teslaclub" domain (and it currently redirects to Tesla's website).

Could try clubtesla.com but maybe it's owned by some pro-oil funded group that go around clubbing teslas with baseball bats.

Oh I doubt it. Twitter will hand that over to Elon without a fuss, I suspect.
