suck for people like me that pick up car on Friday and Tesla dropped their price the same night. It so unfair, and a kick in butt. I was schedule to pick up my car on Saturday, but Tesla call me to pick up early on Friday. I bet they knew it drop so they want me to pay the original price instead of the adjusted price. I want to price adjustment :(. Can I get a refund?

Great thing IMO. Prices as we all have seen over the past several years went just UP, based off of FOMO, free money, low interest rates, high petrol prices - which created unsustained demand.

Lots of factors I would guess kicked off the price cut:

1) More efficient mfg cost model for Tesla (others are not in the game yet, as newbies to building/designing EV's).
- - Tesla has the superior tech and charging network - other are still trying to figure out OTA update.
2) Competition is growing quickly from all MFG's, this gives the consumer so many choices.
3) Want to maintain the volumes the factories are use to building now, keep growing as a company.
- - - Would be there will be new models coming to the range, smaller than the 3/Y.
4) Interest rates are climbing, economy is slowing (a lot) and repos of all vehicles are 15k+ daily.
- - Hence - demand for everything is slowing.
5) IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) EV portion of the bill on what "qualifies" for the deduction is in limbo and vague. Worst part is they pushed off defining the criteria till March. Anything could change - so people are sitting on the sidelines waiting.

IMO - Lots of YouTubers for views/$$$ started this "Tesla quality is inferior" stuff (but they bought one or several Tesla's and made their channel all about Tesla's - so obviously the things the exaggerated were minor), when that may have been the case years ago, they refined the mfg process significantly. The crazy check-lists of every detail to go over when you take delivery, like you are a new QC inspector for Tesla and expect a PERFECT vehicle. That's Just nuts/unrealistic, however lists/perception went viral and others think that's the norm - when in fact it's quite the opposite. Example - My 21 Acura RDX had some minor paint blemishes, panels that weren't aligned perfectly and hiccups when new. Still no OTA updates, have to download the maps to a memory stick then upload them to the vehicle- pain in the a$$ (plus nothing in the AWD or engine mgmt ever gets updated with refinement). But I took that as its a MASS produced vehicle with dated tech (compared to Tesla), has a warranty and items deemed out of spec would be address - which the were.

i wish! I picked up mine on Sep 30th, 2022, i was thinking about postponing it since Biden had already signed the bill which was not clear at all at the time...

Regarding the massive price drops, it might be good fir the company long term, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of existing owners, especially new owners who bought in December 2022. I bought a M3 RWD on Dec 11, 2022, and while I got the $3,750 discount, I missed out on the 10k free supercharger miles announced 4 days later and the additional $3,750 discount announced 10 days later.

The least Tesla could have done to help mitigate the sting of these losing out on these additional promos would have been to give December and even earlier buyers in 2022 free supercharger miles, a few years of premium connectivity or perhaps a free upgrade to EAP. While I like the car overall, I lost a lot of respect for the Tesla brand and probably won’t buy another one in the future. I’ll most likely buy a Ford or Chevy EV truck or a SUV from one of the other well established car brands coming to market. Hopefully the nationwide non-Tesla charging network will improve in the next few years when I’ll be ready to move on from my Tesla. As for now, I’ll try to enjoy the car and try to forget about the disappointing experience I had as a new Tesla buyer.
