As I understand, Tesla is a car company, not a dealership. They want to sell their product, not take in cars to re-sell. They low-balled me by $6k on a 2015 Lexus in “excellent “ condition. I went to Lexus and got very close to fair market value. That said, you are better off selling to a private party ALWAYS, versus a trade in. Sure, Tesla will offer to take your vehicle but, at a significant loss. They told me they needed a “buyer” to take my trade-in. Not worth the time or trouble, regardless that you are trading back a Tesla.
