Just picked up a Blue Aero (17xxx) in Austin, mine is also as you described. I didn't inquire about it when I picked it up. Not clear if it could be better aligned or not (didn't check any others).

Related and just to provide others with my experience:

The front hood was also "sunk" in as many are, but it was the same on both sides and with the blue color it wasn't really that obvious without touching or looking hard, so I didn't attempt to fix it (i.e. via the rubber screws). Figured I would drive it a bit before doing anything there. I didn't notice any other misalignment. Didn't take it over 60 mph, but didn't notice any mirrior/triangle whistling, etc. No loading/unloading damage (rims/underneath) New seat style.

I brought a checklist of items and spent about an hour with the car, probably more OCD than average but not bring-a-flashlight level OCD. Some minor issues in the paint, center console, etc., but nothing that wouldn't happen after a short time of ownership anyway. A bit dirty from being in a Fremont parking lot for a month or so and my wife commented that it doesn't look like a new car, but I'de rather detail it myself anyway.

The windows were not really clean (some from pollen/weather and some from factory residue). There was some black sealant on the headliner near the moonroof, but not super noticeable. The only thing I brought up was a scratch on the interior windshield drivers side eye level (looks like something scrapped it probably during install and not indistinguishable from dirt/smear). They gave me basically every option possible so I decided to have the windshield replaced since that was the only issue I was concerned about.

If you have aeros and bring in your caps, they will put them on for you.
Pre-install the Telsa app, they will add your car to your account right before they give the tour/delivery.

Overall, I drove away happy and I could tell they cared that they made sure I drove away happy.
I’ll be interested to see how mine looks when I pick it up on Saturday. Assuming black will really show the dirt and marks :D

There were only minor marks on the front bumper. The dirt was mostly in the nooks-and-crannies (door trim, between panels, behind the aero covers on the rims, etc.).

Did you request for them to not wash the car prior to you picking it up?

I didn't. Also they removed the protective plastic off the bumpers (if there were any), the screen, and door sills. So if you care about those things you should let them know ahead of time. I didn't notice any swirls from improper washing (but didn't look that closely). The vanity mirrors still had the protective film.

Also, I saw another Model S there that was in for a windshield repair and there was a sign that says "don't wash", so they would probably do the same for a new delivery if requested ahead of time.

Once you have your final MVPA and all of the car has been paid for, do you just show up to like the car and leave or is there more paperwork?

My car was paid for in full yesterday and now I'm just waiting to get a firm delivery date.
You'll get your delivery date then it all goes quiet
I got my registration packet by fedex today with instructions to bring it along to the delivery (Sat)
My ISA said to show up with proof of insurance and a drivers license :)
This is the longest 48 hours, time seems to be crawling along right now.
Officially the most expensive thing I've bought on the internet.

Just confirmed my delivery date for June 8th at 2 p.m. I could have done June 7th but have too much going on at work so I will just leave the next morning and head to Dallas. Much sooner than expected .

Interesting. I know people do request no wash, but since you hadn't seems kind of weird to get delivered a dirty car. Would kind of dampen the experience in my opinion.

Good luck on the delivery! Hope all goes well.

Delivery went as expected, no issues except on tail light with condensation. Will check it again in a few days.
Awesome, awesome car. All the systems are a single cohesive whole.
It arrived with 2018.3 and had a notification to update to .13, so I did.
Phone keys work great and autopilot woke up after about 30 miles.
Very happy new Tesla owner, now looking for excuses to go driving.

Just some further info on loans & funding:

I'm getting my loan through USAA, and it hasn't been the easiest process. Normally, when a bank goes to fund a loan, they give you a Dealer Funding Request form that you give to the dealer. It instructs the dealer to fill out the balance due on the car i.e. the amount of the loan, send in the signed purchase agreement, and send in a copy of the title application listing the bank as the lein holder.

It's that last requirement that makes this a pain in Texas. Tesla can't do a title application until the car is here in Texas, but California won't ship the car to Texas until the loan funding is secured. The bank won't fund the loan until it gets the title application. Process deadlock.

I had to ask USAA to do a "Traditional Close" loan, which means they send a bank check that's pay to the order of Tesla. Once Tesla gets that check, then the car ships from California to Texas.

My Delivery Specialist said that doing it this way in Texas is likely to get you the car faster. If your bank makes you do the Dealer Funding Request, which is typical for ACH transfers, that it will take much longer in Texas.

Note that this is for doing a loan with your own bank. Not applicable if you're financing through Tesla or paying cash.
Joe, can you explain how you pay via ACH transfer? Does the bank to the transfer or do they fund you then you transfer?

Glad to hear it went well and another happy Tesla owner! By chance were you out Saturday afternoon around 2pm-ish? Wife and I saw a black with aeros turning onto the I35 frontage road between 3406 and 79 and thought it may have been you.

There is a black one a bit further down 3406 than me, they have left the aeros on.
I’ve taken them off mine and fitted the bolt cover kit instead.
That makes three just in that little section of 3406 now :)

My delivery is scheduled for Friday next week at the Dallas Cedar Springs road location and if anyone else there would like to look for my car and see if it has the bumper mismatch issue or any other glaring issues while you're there picking up yours that could save me a night at a hotel.

Just FYI, I believe most cars for delivery in Dallas are stored at an offsite lot - I looked around for mine, after my ISA confirmed it had 'arrived', and before my delivery, but it was nowhere to be found (did not check the day immediately prior to delivery, unsure how far in advance they may move from the offsite lot to the service center for final detailing/inspections etc). I saw some speculation before about where that lot might be, but never saw anything definitive.... maybe someone knows more on the timing or where to snoop for these about-to-be-delivered babies :)

Ha! Guess the one I saw wasn't you then, it definitely had the aero covers on. Not quite as bad as California (yet), but slowly getting overrun with Teslas :p
