Texas Model Ys

This wait is starting to become annoying, particularly when I see people that ordered after me in TX getting theirs. I already sold my car privately as I got WAY more than Tesla offered ($6k+), so I have a one car household, which is getting old....fast. I know that isn't Tesla's problem, but I sure would like to get a VIN and delivery date as the one month anniversary approaches on my order.

I feel the same way. What city are you in? Seems like Dallas orders aren't getting filled out unless its white or blue.

I've been waiting longer...

Sorry for folks-in-waiting, my timeline was also spotty, with 2-3 weeks of radio silence.
With SA saying car is not quite ready, DA saying “maybe mid-September” just received text “schedule the delivery”, set to September 10th. If it happens, would be 6 weeks from order as I’ve been told.
Now need to switch to Progressive (who seems to provide lower rates for Tesla) and finalize finance.

I had the same thought on the white dash. It turned out ok, but since I already got an wood dash on eBay long before I got the Y delivered. I decided to test it out. It is pretty nice, so I’m going to drive a little with it. The nice thing is that it takes less than 5 min to swap it out.View attachment 577823
would you be able to send me a link to this dashboard cover? Does the installation require adhesives that would be hard to take out later?

Same. Dallas order here for White stealth performance, 20 inch inductions, no FSD. Approaching 8-9 weeks since July 1st order. AshleyLynn called me today and said they should be getting a bunch of new VINs in the next couple of weeks.

Wow, you're more patient than me. I wonder why Houston and Austin are getting faster turn around on orders than Dallas. I wish we could bring up the Tesla order spreadsheet and ask them why orders in Dallas come out slower than the rest of the state.... I'd forgive them if they had delivery ready instead.

I got matched to a VIN 36XXX. My SA checked the car and said I was lucky to get matched so quickly, likely because someone canceled their order as the car was already on its way to Austin and I was the next one up for that spec... so the VIN matching doesn’t always work in perfect order. Lots of other factors involved. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Another week and no updates.

MSM/White Interior/20 Inch/AWD must be a cursed build - I called the support specialist in Las Vegas for updates on delivery. And her response was "the factory just started building Model Y's this week! We're just waiting for the factory to build your car, and then we'll give you your VIN."

I'm starting to regret picking up grey when red, white, and blue orders are getting fulfilled daily.

Finally end the financial saga with CU finance to Tesla.
Energy Capital CU, good rates ( I didn't get the best due to short credit history and just good CS, below 740). Two things made some road bumps:
1. CU wants some guarantee letter from Tesla, which Tesla was not really want to make first, because CU asked first to provide by request, while Tesla was committed to 30 days only. Next some typos in letter from CU side, in MVPA on Tesla side, few days of back and forth and me calling them both to talk to each other :) But at last CU got what they want, sent a check and Tesla get proof of payment and switch me now to LOCAL delivery team from LV one.
2. CU insist THEY will do a registration instead of me, so I have to include taxes in credit. From one side a less (probably) hassle for me, from other side that would have some extra payments. Anyway I'm intended to pay it faster, as well I have some "spare" money from tax payments now.
After all, I get a car with 1500 payment, the rest (with taxes) financed. 72mo 3.5%
Tried some other lenders, either required quite a lot DP and rates was not quite good (well, because of my credit history at first place)

Now eagerly :) waiting for pick-up, scheduled for next week, but no updates from Houston delivery team yet...

Hope it will come with amber lights and maybe single-piece back (VIN 401xx)

P.s. another way for Texans to finance is get unsecured car loan from Lightstream (4-7%), get money on the account, pay "cash" to Tesla and later refinance to lower rate from regular institution

I am working through AMOCO right now and man is it annoying. COVID has really made this stuff hard, they are struggling to figure out how to get the money to Tesla (I guess they have decided to mail a check now) and the lady I am working with is very slow but seems to be the only person who can handle this. She said the check will go out today so I really hope that is true since I am getting close to the "
pay in 7 days or lose your car" mark and I am going to very upset if that happens. I got 72 months @ 2.39% which is an awesome rate

AMOCO now says they "have to do the tax title and license" so they "need the MSO from Tesla". My DA had to put a ticket in to some system to hopefully get that generated and uploaded to my account. Sigh. These banks really need to get caught up with how Tesla does business. Send them the money, take the title, give me [the banks] car.

I just went with Tesla Financing through Alliant Credit Union. Got a decent rate (2.49 over 60 months) and they took care of making sure Tesla gets fully paid. The transfer was pretty instant once all parties got what they needed.

I dreaded having to go to the tax assessor office to get the car registered, pay for the tax, and get my plates. But after waiting a couple of weeks to get the paperwork from Tesla (Fedex), I took all the paperwork to the office, and got my plates within 15 minutes. I was afraid there would be a snag somewhere, but apparently I had all the paperwork they needed (the only thing I provided outside of the packet Tesla sent me was the inspection report that came with the car at delivery, my driver's license, and proof of insurance).

I was really hoping for a 72 month loan an Alliant wants 3.4. I got 2.39 at AMOCO for 72 but I now see that came with some cost lol
