Text Message Volume is TOO LOUD

Is there any way to reduce the text message volume? I know I can completely disable it but it's a useful feature. My problem is that it always plays at max volume. No volume controls have any effect. In addition the discard feature blanks the text on the instrument panel but doesn't stop the audio playback, so I have to listen to every text at max volume. Some texts that include long URLs go on forever with no way to stop them. The Tesla rep told me to enable Joe mode but that had no effect on text messages. Help! - 2015 Model S with MCU1 (which may be flakey).

Try lowering the volume while the message is playing. Mine is not at full volume. However I upgraded to MCU2 to get rid of the problems that MCU1 was causing.

reboot and then try lowering volume while message is playing ? not sure ive tried using volume controls when a message is playing yet .
