Text Messages from Wrong person

Used to happen to me when I used a 3rd party messaging app. Stopped as soon as I switched to the stock app.

I have a Note S20 Ultra and get this occasionally as well. It really freaked me out the first time since it was a text from my dad who passed away almost three years ago!

It's apparently still a problem. I'm getting texts from my husband who died 2 years ago. Google Pixel 5 stock messaging app.

I've had my new 2021 MY for about 10 days now. This just happend to me today. Showed what I'm guessing is a really old message. I don't know if the "alleged" sender was the original sender. However I responded with voice through the car. This caused a really awkward conversation shortly after.

Phone is a galaxy Note 10.

Happens to me also (android OnePlus 7 pro on Google Fi and Verizon), but I've heard it has to do with RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging being enabled.

This has happened many many times. It happened as early as yesterday. It's a bit annoying, not sure why this issue cannot be fixed.

Got another one today. This time, shortly before an actual message from the same person. There are definatly a lot of bugs in the car. I hope none of them effect my safety on the road!

I got rid of them by deleting either the person who sent the text or deleting all their old text messages. I got them quite often the first couple of months after doing that I haven't had any.

model Y - it happens randomly for me with pixel 3a.

My wife reported this same issue more than once on Pixel 3AXL.

I just asked her to try the 'workaround" of remove/delete.

Don't worry, if she does it'll just show up as your boss texting you. Your boss asking what panties he should get might be an awkward conversation to have with your wife though..

Has anyone else been getting a text message from X person, but then the Tesla shows a completely different text from Y person?

The Tesla has been showing/reading me text messages from a person I haven't sent a text to in months. It's very odd.

I like that you are using car names as an example of people.

Anyone ever figure out a fix or workaround to this issue? Can't believe it still hasn't been addressed after 2 years honestly. I also have an issue where if I'm playing music from my phone bluetooth, the car mic will just not work for some reason. Example: listening to music from my phone BT. Phone call comes in, answer the call with the Car UI, music stops playing, person on the call can't hear me. OR if I try a voice command, it doesn't detect that I'm saying anything. I assume this and the text message issue are somehow related.
