I’m going to start shopping around, to be fair, last month the cheapest was £1500 by LV and now it’s £1200 with flow

So I think it is all about timing. Unfortunately I don’t have any plates or confirmed date yet so it’s hard for me to really pin point actual dates with the insurer

Think I will just keep trying my luck and just haggle a price down as much as I can

Flow is also LV but a budget online only brand of theirs

My S is due for renewal mid sept and with all the scary quotes being mentioned I've just done a 30 day ahead comparison (knackered old fart out in the sticks) and RAC quote £319; LV £403 with lots in between and beyond. last year was circa £400 with LV so not so bad.

Can anyone find something with a compulsory excess below £500? Seems quite high, especially given the prices I'm quoted (but again I'm in London )

For me, compulsory excess is coming out at £300 with Churchill. £250 with Direct Line (but my quote is over £100 more with them).
