The Accenture Report on EV pilots

Very interesting. They seem to conclude that public infrastructure will have to remain publicly funded for the foreseeable future, but are ignoring the opportunity for service providers to attract customers to visit/remain at their facilities while they charge. UK supermarkets frequently run significant discount schemes for petrol & diesel for those spending more than a set amount in their stores - the value of these on a full tank of either would exceed the total cost of charging a LEAF, and would be close to the cost of fully charging a Roadster.

They're also very positive about the battery-swap model, reporting very positive responses to the Better Place Tokyo Taxi Trial. At 59 seconds per swap, it seems ideally suited to high-usage fleets of vehicles operating around a small number of hubs. The practicality of running the system with a diverse fleet of privately-owned individuals aren't addressed.

Also absent was any discussion about the issue of differing connector standards, as far as I could tell.
