And here we now are, looking at the Model S, which, if everything works as advertised—something I couldn’t discern in an hour-plus test drive in Los Angeles last week—would rank among the world’s best cars.

But the car is dope.

I still feel bad for that town in CA that thought they were getting the plant, but this obviously was necessary for Tesla to become a viable mass market car company.

Before Tesla announced the Nummi deal, they were in negotiations with two places in LA. One of them really wanted Tesla, however it seemed they acted as if they already had the deal even after it was clearly said in public that there were also (still) negotiations with the other place in LA as well.

Not to get too far OT, but these two guys, along with Adam Carolla, hosted the short lived The Car Show on SpeedTV. It was an entertaining show, and much better than the US version of Top Gear, which lacks chemistry and always seemed so staged.
