Interesting you started and ended with 499km, the original rated range of the Model 3 LR AWD (before the late 2019/early 2020 updates to 518km).

It still seems like Tesla is flip flopping on what numbers and schemes to use for the older cars. At least, that's the appearance, it could have another reason entirely.

Agree, except I don't think this is restricted to "older" cars. I purchased my 2020 after they started advertising the 518 km range.
