I always assumed Tesla ran the servers themselves, but it makes sense to use a distributor to push packages out. I wonder how involved they are in the day-to-day monitoring aspect.

Not a word about security or privacy. If I were running an Internet Of Things company my biggest concern would be that someone else (not MY company of course!) would have a major high profile security breach and it would sour the general public on the whole idea. It's possible that this is Mr. Mohammed's biggest concern too, he just doesn't want to put that concern out there.
