Well, that's disappointing. Bonnie will be able to keep up in her fully loaded X with aquarium and vanity.
Was hoping the Bond film coming later this year would not only feature a Tesla Model S in it, but there'd be a scene where the S plays an important role in the plot... for example, the fact that the car is silent*, enabling Bond to make a getaway he couldn't have done in an ICE. *well, silent as long as the drivetrain doesn't suffer from the milling/cicada sound. Actually, that would be unintentionally hilarious. Bond tries to get away in his S, but the evil henchmen hear the S's cicada sound as soon as Bond lightly presses the accelerator...
This is the rumored future DB10. If it's rear wheel drive, then no amount of power will increase the 0-60. It could have a million hp and would be traction limited unless it had 400 wide slicks. i'd be shocked if a rear wheel car could get anywhere near close 3.2 seconds on street tires regardless of how much power it had.
You mean like the McLaren P1 that does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds? Too slow? The La Ferrari does it in 2.4 with RWD.
The LaFerrari is a hybrid that leverages an electric motor to get that kind of acceleration. They were always going to use a British car for a Anglo-centric film.
Call me shocked My last motorcycle could do 0-60 in 2.7 seconds with one wheel. I guess I just wasn't thinking of ultra cars that are ultra light weight. Very cool though.
Nah! I loved the bimmer. Had the most amazing Q gadgets. Not like those lame turret machine guns that pop out of the Austin Martin headlamps. They could do so much with a Model S and it would be amazing.
For sure. Tesla does not need to spend that kind of money -- it's a brand that sells itself, thank the lord, without any help from Madison Avenue or Hollywood
Not true. Bond had several BMWs including a motor cycle. It's all about money. Back then BMW payed around $40 million for the product placement. Product placement has a long tradition with James Bond movies. I worked both for BMW and in the movie industry for many years.
Dunno about that... the absolute most awesome Bond car ever was French... :scared: 0-60 in what...? Ummm, can we make that '60 km/h'??
