The Perils of Reporting Charge Time in Percent

Here's why reporting charging time to a given percentage leads to logical errors:

This article

says:

The Audi Q4 e-Tron will deliver a range of up to 250 miles on a single charge, while this doesn’t match the Tesla Model Y’s range of 326 miles, it is worth noting that the charging rate for the Audi Q4 e-Tron is considerably faster. You can get back on the road, with a charge of 80-percent, in under 38 minutes. This out-competes the Tesla Model Y’s charge time of 45 minutes to the same charge percentage.

So, the Model Y charges to 261 miles (80% of 326 miles) in 45 minutes, or 348 miles of charge per hour, and
the Q4 charges to 200 miles (80% of 250 miles) in 38 minutes, or 315 miles of charge per hour.

Bottom line, the Y charges 10% faster than the Q4, but the reporter got it backwards.

Yeah, Topspeed "journalist" Luke Speed is just profoundly stupid. How this moron manages to hold a job in any profession is beyond me, but why would he try to be a journalist if he can't even read, nevermind think?

The dude can't even Google. Look at his second paragraph of drivel:

"...the Q4 e-Tron has a few advantages to the Tesla Model Y. The Q4 comes with a variety of safety features, standard to the vehicle. These features include a lane departure warning, and an automatic emergency braking system. Although Tesla does provide these safety additions, they come as an optional extra, which will add an extra thousand dollars to your checkout price."

And:

"The standard Q4 e-tron... will provide the owner with standard features, such as heated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof, which is[sic] optional extras on the Tesla Model Y."

"Audi also offering a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 on their vehicles, this is something Tesla does not offer"

I would have titled this thread: "The perils of thinking that Luke Speed is anything other than a dishonest, lazy, and illiterate idiot"
