So, I'm in San Francisco for a software conference. I got an invite to a Oracle reception (free drinks!), and joined some of the lesser-suited types at a table (lots of suits there).
I was wearing my Tesla jacket. Someone eventually asked about it, and when they found out I owned a Tesla, I was suddenly everybody's best friend.
Several drinks later, they took me out to dinner at a very good restaurant ($$$).
Now, Teslas are so common in the Bay Area they're nicknamed "Palo Alto Priuses". But these guys were from out of state, and they were really interested in the car.
Moral of the story? Never underestimate the power of Tesla as a brand.
