The Seattle Area Needs More Superchargers

There a whole lot being added across WA. Started a new thread overall, though agreed re Ellensberg and Aberdeen. Ellensberg is back, and Ritzville, although showing as to be built. Aberdeen still MIA :)
If you go to Supercharger | Tesla and click on the map, then zoom in, you'll notice that Ellensburg has both icons, grey and red, indicating that a NEW duplicate site will be added. This should alleviate the ICEing problems that are rampant as the summer hotel season fills up the parking lot. The same thing is visible for Ritzville, Squamish & Hope BC, Woodburn & Eugene & Grants Pass OR, and Mt Shasta CA (as well as probably a bunch others not relevant to this thread). The proposed Seattle, Bellevue, Lynnwood and Snoqualmie locations make perfect sense, and Arlington seems to be a short cut over Highway 20 to Omak, but I'm perplexed by the lack of something in Puyallup/Enumclaw for travel to Mt. Rainier. Perhaps they are still trying to find an acceptable location closer to Fife/Tacoma for travel to the peninsula.

I was referring to the original issue where existing locations, that were to be expanded, were replaced with a gray icon, or just missing. Since then, these are now red icons again.
It may show a different location for the gray icon, though all gray icons for new locations are centered on the city name as per google maps, i.e. They're not an accurate new location, rather the indicated city. For another example of this see Woodburn, OR

Quite a few new superchargers in the Seattle area since this thread was started. Although I'm always happy for more chargers, the one problem that actually affects me has not been improved. There still is only one SpC between Portland and Seattle. It's location makes a weekend trip to Seattle from Portland (or vice versa) nearly impossible without some destination charging in Seattle. I have an 85 and even if I get pretty close to full in Centralia, it is difficult to make the centrailia -> seattle -> full weekend of local driving plus vampire drain -> centralia trip. Having to find local charging adds a lot of annoyance.

I'm still hoping there will be a new supercharger soon in the Olympia/Tacoma area, and maybe another closer to Portland along I-5. Or having a SpC in Seattle and Portland themselves. Or both! It looks like these are planned but I haven't heard anything started yet.

Have the new superchargers around Seattle fixed problems for you?

Yes, I've seen a modest improvement. In the past, I've often visited the Snohomish area, and cut off through Monroe, on trips north to the San Juan Islands. The Monroe SC is perfect for me, I used it two weeks ago. Other trips include overnight with destination charging, so no problems there. However, I understand this is not the majority. During service visits, I specifically request L2 charging for at least an hour so that I can make it to my local destination. An SC would alleviate that concern, but so far it hasn't been too much trouble. As for heading south, I would often cut off at Snoqualmie on 18 and go over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Future SCs at Snoqualmie or Puyallup would make the trip easier. I still don't understand why Tesla doesn't have something near Tacoma-Puyallup-Auburn for travel to Mt Rainier. There are Fred Meyer's at Renton, Auburn, Sumner, Puyallup, plus many more. They have contracts with several in the PNW, why not one more?

Nope. The one in Burlington was sufficient imo. Why they added two more north of Seattle makes little sense to me. They really need more of them south of Seattle. Would love one around Longview or in Vancouver. Unfortunately, from looking at their map, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Agree. If they wanted to put one more north of Seattle, though, they could have put it more close to Canadian border. At least I could visit Mt Baker and upper part of Cascade with peace of mind. I am still scratching my head... Why Arlington out of so many better places?

Looks like Olympia fills a gap though I'm also surprised at the lack of one for Tacoma or Longview.

Arlington was done I'm sure because of the motivated Indian casino that made installation easy.

But overall what a great improvement to the network! Aberdeen, Forks, Sequim, Wenatchee, Okanagan... It makes full WA state travel 90% possible without an ICE.

PS, I checked Fred Meyer in lynnwood yesterday for any signs of construction. Nothing yet, but if be concerned about ICE'ng in that parking lot. It's very crowded.

Which Fred Meyer did you look at? There are two in Lynnwood.

Come on Tesla, we're feeling a little unloved up here:

Plugshare showing Superchargers, same zoom level, centered on Seattle:
View attachment 184182
2 Superchargers.

And Portland:
View attachment 184183
8 Superchargers.

You have it good!

Sydney Australia 5,000,000+ people in about the same area as the greater metro area of Seattle.

We have just 1 site, 6 posts and NO plans for a 2nd till next year.

The Monroe one is a great location, both for summer trips to/from Leavenworth, and winter trips to Steven's. Both places didn't leave much room for improvisation before (Leavenworth, with a lot of tourists and 4 L2 chargers. Steven's with a couple of chargers and skiers out on the slopes all day.

Maybe Arlington is just an opportunity, i.e. the casino paying for everything. Otherwise I don't see the point with both Monroe and Burlington.
