The SR+ is fast!

I"d like to see a Tesla Model 3BR*
Chill Mode is the only driving mode.
0-60 in 7.6s.
16" or 17" wheels.
Regular profile tires.

I'm sure that an SR would seem fast.

Some of us would just like an efficient long-range BEV with good fast charging capability and an associated fast-charging network from a volume seller** of EVs.

* BoRing
** That isn't part of the Volkswagen group
i don't understand your post. are you basically saying the "cheapest" offering of the M3 is so handicapped that compared to it, the SR+ seems fast? not sure what your argument is here.

here's the thing, there are plenty of mass-produced ICE cars out there that are twice as slow as the SR+. most sedans, CUVs, SUVs, offer a 6+s 0-60 time and that's after the engine adjusts for torque, LSD, etc., etc.

i test drove the standard 2019 RAV4 and a HYBRID 2019 RAV4 and the HYBRID was significantly more responsive, but it was still an 8s vehicle.

What's everyone's experience with the app? Does it take the full 3 days before your car shows up in it and you can use it, or is it much faster? :)
what do you mean?

they told me to sign in to the app with my ID the day I ordered the car. i couldn't do anything with it until delivery time. I had been busy in the hours before my appt and had forgot to check until I was there and everything worked perfectly.

the only issues i've ever had with the app is when i've been away from the car for a while and I have to open the app to reconnect, the car is idle and goes to sleep, or the store updates the app and I have to launch it again.

Let me try again: I'm sure that an SR would seem fast to me.

I'd like a BR (BoRing) version of the Model 3 with no aim to be quick, but instead more focused on efficiency and tire life.

My cars are 0-60 in 9.8s and 8.9s and I'm quite happy with that.

I think you can drive it very boring and get good range and long tire life, I’m just happy that the power is there for some fun times when you want. I was initially worried it would feel a little lacking since it was the lowest end (on menu) option, but rest assured, it still can be fun when you want!

So my car is showing up in the app, but it’s just a place holder picture and gives me the option to watch the video guides or support topics. My delivery guy said that it would take 3 days after I email him saying I took delivery (via 3rd party, not Tesla, at my home address). I’m curious if that lag is real or if it’s more of a “give us up to three days to hit some buttons on our end and give you full app access”.

I think that is incorrect. At my delivery appt. the specialist asked if I had already downloaded the app, I said I had. She pressed some items on her iPad and paired my phone to the car and it showed up instantly. I have to imagine they have that option at all delivery appointments. I didn't even take my key card out of the sleeve for a month.

So mine is slightly different in that it was a Tesla employee that delivered the car. The car was loaded onto a truck in Seattle and transported to me (other side of WA state). I kinda of figured it should just be a couple button presses though. I've got someone I've been texting a lot that is a Sr Sales rep and if it's down to some button presses between my account and my VIN, maybe I can get him to make those button presses today rather then wait for my delivery guy who said it'll be about 3 days...

I haven't played around with "chill" mode but as others have pointed out, keep your foot light on the pedal and this thing is as efficient as you need it to be.

I've been "delicate" with the throttle and noticed it does have a calm stance to it so my thoughts are you just need to be patient.

Why be crippled to slow acceleration? I'd rather have the choice.

I had a Nissan Versa for a rental in Colorado of all places. Talk about the little engine that couldn't. Who rents cars like that in such high elevation? Pedal to the floor, maxing out at 45mph on a hill. No confidence in passing. The thing is a death trap.

Speed is relative, coming from a 90s Dodge Caravan the SR+ is a race car. How fast it feels is subjective to your experiences. A SR+ would feel pretty slow after driving a P3D for a few months, and vice versa.

EVs in general have a much faster throttle response time, and there is pretty much instant acceleration, which makes them feel even quicker than a comparative ICE.

Agreed to everyone saying it’s all relative. What I’m trying to say is that if you can only afford the SR+ you’ll probably still be very happy with the performance of it. It’s still fun and sporty.

(And chances are if the SR+ is your budget you’re not coming from a bunch of higher performance cars)

When I got mine, Home Delivery, last December, some people were reporting that it can take a day or more to get the app to become active. It depends upon your IDA updating your account promptly.

I got mine over a year ago but it appeared in the app the first day and then disappeared for a day or two and then I haven't had a problem since. If you have Android, be sure to turn off battery optimization in the Android settings. Then the phone won't try to turn off the app to save power (which will affect your phone as key). Also, bluetooth doesn't penetrate through water (i.e. your body) very well so try your phone in your front pocket if you normally carry it in your rear pocket and you have problems.

Congrats on your new toy! Mine still makes me smile every time I drive it. LR RWD
