Ended up switching from an X to an S because of some of the rumblings about these issues. The falcon doors opened to different heights during the demo we had. The self presenting front doors are a solution to a problem nobody has. And also looks like they’ll be a problem down the road.

I have an S and requested a Model X as a loaner while mine was in for service for nearly a week. I was hoping it would convince me to get an X next as my family grows but for similar reasons i think i'm going to have to pass on the X. Thats definitely a car you dont want to own outside of warranty.
I would have thought transmission failures would trump problems with FWD not fully opening or fit and trim issues, but apparently not so. Still I'm not surprised the X is considered unreliable, it's such a complex beast in many ways.
