I just noticed the other night that when you turn the steering wheel (and the car is moving more than a few miles per hour), the side you're turning towards gets extra light somehow. It doesn't happen when you're not moving or going slow, so I haven't been able to see what it is that lights up. I wonder what other wonderful things it's doing that I don't know about?
I love the cornering lamp. I'm sure other cars have it but never any car I've owned. Makes a turn much safer.
I asked Tesla if the HID lights are articulating (my current car's are) and was told "no". I wonder why they didn't mention the cornering lights? I've had cars with cornering lights in the past, but they were always activated via the turn signals.
For built up areas I would think that activated via turn signals would be the right idea, you would want to see potiential hazards before you turn the corner. I wonder also about the possible benefit of cornering lights on the open road where you turn a corner but do not use the turn signals (windy road).
Not sure about that. All Signature cars have the tech package but don't know about cars without it. I would think it would be standard though but am not certain.
I suspect that since the fogs come with the tech package, the cornering lamps come with the fogs, thus the lamps come with the tech package. Could be wrong though. If you look at the first photo in the gallery on tesla website, however, they show a car WITHOUT fogs, and there aren't cornering lamps either. The car is an older beta though.
Articulating headlights are good for the windy roads. My current car has them... they're nice, but I could live without it.
Thats cool. Here's another one, wonder if I am just slow or is this news: you can turn on the little dome lites from the controls page, but did you know that you can reach up and push the lite itself and it will come on? (and then you have to wipe off the finger prints, but that's a different thread.)
