Thinking about a red Plaid

Hello! I know early red paint on Model S's wasn't great, anyone have a 2022+ red Plaid or Long Range? How's the red paint quality?

what color is your 2021 Plaid? Just changing cars for color?

Red is awesome color, deep and changing under intensive light or in evening. Put PPF, cannot tell quality of paint.

Yep, driving only in plaid mode. Other options disabled.

Black with a stealth wrap, I usually trade a car about 2 years or end up keeping it until the wheels fall off.

Absolutely. Only way to go. Chill mode is disgraceful

Did you folks PPF your red? Did it take away from the luster? Does it add or take away from the stock paint look?

You still get that same deep luster with the PPF?

I don't want to bash others' cars, but I'll be the lone detractor and say that the new black trim looks a little cheap when on a red or blue car. Silver is... maybe just okay. The black trim just reminds me of the base model cars of the 80s and 90s. Tesla should really do body colored door handles if they want to move away from chrome. On a black or white car the dark trim looks okay as there is a sharper (or zero) contrast. Just my $0.02.

To answer OP question: I am not paranoid about the paint, no wrap, no ppf, use car wash (touchless). Got it in September 2021. Still looks awesome.

I saw red up close other day, looks excellent. Black would be my other choice, as I've had two blue cars in a row now.

That being said, I'm kinda wanting to wait until Tesla offers more colors as they are supposed to be upgrading paint factories in the US supposedly soon like they've done in Europe. Would rather be more patient once more subtle shades become available.
