Nope, sorry but I believe you're wrong. The deadline for the Federal tax credit for Teslas is indeed December 31, 2019. After that you will get $0 from the Feds, assuming that nothing changes in the tax law between now and then. Based upon the 200,00th Tesla being sold in July 2018, the FULL $7500 credit lasts until the end of this year (12/31/2018). Then for the next two quarters (until 6/30/2019) it's halved at $3750. Then two more quarters (until 12/31/2019) it's halved again ($1875).

Tesla

Do you really think OP was asking about the deadline for the fractional credit that expires next year? Assuming congress doesn’t kill it in the next budget.

If someone really wants the tax credit the time to act is now.

It’s correct that’s when all tax credits end. :)
Phase out is 12/31/2018

Should have given some context haha.

Phase out technically started the day they hit 200,000. The phase out consists of the rest of the quarter and the next full quarter with 100%, two quarters at 50%, and two quarters at a 25%.

It'd be better to say the full tax credit for Tesla ends 12/31/2018 and the EV tax credit as a whole ends, for Tesla, 12/31/2019 assuming tax laws aren't changed for 2019.

Ya ya. Fine. I’ll admit to it. It was a typo. But i was trying to argue my way out from the dead, like a lawyer. :p
